Enactus South Africa has successfully hosted its first ever Regional Competition on the 28th April 2021 – 5th May 2021. During this event, 16 teams showcased how their community outreach projects and business ventures are making a real impact in South Africa and beyond.

In addition, 8 teams that were preselected from the Enactus Summer Challenge participated in the 2021 Nedbank Ideation Challenge on the 3rd– 4th May 2021.

The competition was adjudicated on LaunchPad6 with Harmony Gold Mining Company Limited as the host sponsor and Nedbank sponsoring the Ideation Challenge.

Here are the 5 different regions namely;

  • Central and Western Cape Region,
  • KwaZulu- Natal Region,
  • Eastern Cape Region,
  • Gauteng, Mpumalanga and North West Region
  • Northern Region,

All teams from these regions presented their ideas and were evaluated by our Enactus South Africa alumni serving as judges who ranked them on how successful they were at creating impact and using business as a force for good. Only 12 teams advanced from the 5 Regionals to compete at the National Competition on 19-23 and 28 July 2021 as semi-finalists.

The top three teams for the Nedbank Ideation Challenge are:

  • 3rd Place winning R5 000: University of Limpopo
  • 2nd Place winning R10 000: Durban University of Technology
  • 1st Place winning R15 000: North West University
